Google DeepMind unveils Genie 4, a world model that adds native audio, dialogue and real-time steering
Google DeepMind released Genie 4 as a research preview on Tuesday. The new world model generates more photorealistic interactive simulations with better physics and more natural human characters, and it is DeepMind's first real-time world model to generate audio natively, including ambient sound, music and adaptive dialogue. Users can change the weather, camera or add people and objects mid-simulation with text prompts, while Gemini 3.8 Flash plans and checks multi-step events. Scenes can now hold together for about two minutes, double Genie 3's limit. It is available to trusted testers now, with rollout to Google AI Ultra subscribers in Project Genie and early Gemini API and AI Studio partners in the coming weeks.
