Springer Nature and Google DeepMind partner on an AI peer review assistant
Springer Nature and Google DeepMind announced a research partnership to co-design a Gemini-powered assistant that helps peer reviewers navigate manuscripts, analyze text, charts and figures, and flag sections that need closer scrutiny. A prototype is already in testing. It is built on Google's open-source Agent Development Kit and runs only inside Springer Nature's private Gemini Enterprise environment to keep manuscripts confidential, with human reviewers keeping the final judgment. The partners have not given a timeline for wider rollout.
