The Aigentic AI Index
A live equal-weight average of the public AI names on this site — labs and software where they trade, cloud platforms, chips, equipment, memory, servers, power, data centers, and the rest of the stack we track on AI Market Movers.
How it is built
Each refresh takes every public ticker in our names board, pulls the regular-session day percent change, and averages those moves with equal weight. A name that fails to quote on that refresh is dropped from the average for that tick — missing data is not treated as zero. The basket currently has about 148 tickers; the live count on the homepage shows how many quoted successfully.
How often it updates
The homepage widget asks our own API about every five seconds while the tab is open and the US cash session is open. The API caches quotes for roughly 10–15 seconds so browsers never call the quote provider directly. When the tab is hidden, polling pauses.
Market hours
During the US regular session (roughly 9:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Eastern), the figure is today’s move. Before the open, after the close, on weekends, and on holidays, we still show the last session day percent with a pre-market, after-hours, or market-closed label, and the widget refreshes more slowly.
What it is not
This is an editorial basket for following the AI trade on The Aigentic. It is not an investable product, not investment advice, and not a benchmark licensed for funds. Equal weight means a small software name moves the index as much as a mega-cap chipmaker.
