Texas AD walks back claim that new Bevo Lab AI platform called failed fourth-down play vs. Florida
An Austin American-Statesman report quoted athletic director Chris Del Conte citing Texas's failed fourth-and-2 against Florida, with the Longhorns trailing 20-17 late, as a "pivotal embrace" of Bevo Lab, the AI and data analytics platform the school launched Friday with Dell, Google Cloud and SHI. Within hours Del Conte clarified that the decision to go for it was not based on Bevo Lab analysis; he said he offered the play as an example of what the tool could suggest, not what it actually did.
