Nvidia and UW's Institute for Protein Design release open-source protein design model RFD4-Proteina
Nvidia and the University of Washington's Institute for Protein Design, led by Nobel laureate David Baker, released RFD4-Proteina, an open generative model that designs a protein's sequence and structure together alongside the molecules it interacts with. The developers say it achieves five- to tenfold higher design success rates on benchmarks while generating candidates five to 10 times faster than previous models. The model is available under a BSD license via Hugging Face and partners including Google Cloud, Amazon Bio Discovery, OpenAI and Anthropic's Claude Science.
