Unconventional AI buys Israeli chip startup NeuReality to speed product development
Naveen Rao's Unconventional AI, the US hardware startup valued at $4.5 billion less than a year after launch, is acquiring Israeli AI inference-chip maker NeuReality in an undisclosed cash-and-stock deal. Rao told Reuters the company already has its first test chip and is nearing a second, far ahead of plan, and needs NeuReality's product-building team; about 40 people will join and Unconventional will keep a presence in Israel. NeuReality, founded in 2019, had raised about $105 million from backers including Arm and Samsung Ventures.
