Musk says SpaceX raised $40 billion in debt deal, predicts neocloud shakeout
Elon Musk said on X on Sunday that SpaceX has closed $40 billion in debt financing to buy Nvidia GPUs, mostly callable debt for chips arriving in the first half of 2027, crediting its investment-grade rating and Starlink and launch revenue. He warned that debt markets have largely shut off funding for companies without revenue beyond AI data centers and predicted failures and consolidation among more than 200 neocloud providers. Bloomberg reported that people familiar with the matter said pricing talks were still underway Sunday and the deal had not yet closed.
