Nvidia's Jensen Huang says he sees no sign of a 2029 memory glut: 'You can always use more'
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang told CNBC on Thursday, on the sidelines of GTC Berlin, that he doesn't expect a memory oversupply by 2029, after a week-long selloff in memory stocks sparked by a South Korean newspaper column warning of a 2029 supply glut and by China's CXMT unveiling a denser DRAM architecture. "One of the things that's really great about memory is that you can always use more of it," Huang said, adding that Nvidia will keep using "abundant amounts" of HBM and LPDDR. Asked about partnering with CXMT, he said Nvidia is "open-minded," and argued U.S. export restrictions have accelerated China's chip advances.
