Nvidia, Anthropic, Google and Intel lobbied against AI chip export bills in the third quarter
Third-quarter federal lobbying disclosures show Nvidia, Anthropic, Google and Intel all lobbied on proposals to tighten exports of advanced AI chips, Punchbowl News reports. The push centered on three measures moving into the Senate's version of the annual defense bill: the AI OVERWATCH Act, the Chip Security Act and the MATCH Act. The provisions are expected to be fought over in the coming lame-duck session as Congress decides how tightly to control sales of advanced chips, particularly to China.
