OpenAI launches GPT-6.1 Terra, matching GPT-6 Astra on computer use at a tenth of the price

OpenAI released GPT-6.1 Terra, a fast mid-tier model for visual reasoning, computer use and writing that replaces GPT-5.6 Terra. On OpenAI's Agents' Last Exam benchmark it scores 15 points higher than GPT-5.6 Terra and performs on par with flagship GPT-6 Astra at one-tenth the price per token, while finishing tasks more than three times faster. API pricing is $1 per million input tokens and $5 per million output, half the price of GPT-5.6 Terra and GPT-6.1 Sol, though OpenAI still recommends Sol or Astra for the hardest coding work. The model is live for Plus, Pro, Enterprise and Edu users in ChatGPT Work and Codex, in the API, and on Amazon Bedrock.
