Nvidia lowers HBM4 and NVLink bandwidth specs for Vera Rubin

Nvidia's updated Vera Rubin spec sheets now list 19.2 TB/s of HBM4 bandwidth per Rubin GPU, down from the 22 TB/s it previously advertised, and 1,400 TB/s per NVL72 rack, down from 1,580 TB/s. NVLink bandwidth per GPU drops from 3.6 TB/s to 3 TB/s, or 216 TB/s per rack instead of 260 TB/s. TechPowerUp says the implied HBM4 pin speed falls from 11.7 Gbps to about 9.6 Gbps, and Nvidia made the change without an announcement. Industry reports read the lower bar as a way to let more memory parts pass qualification and raise production volume.
