Carrier plans $600 million Texas plant to make cooling gear for AI data centers
Carrier Global will invest more than $600 million over three years in a manufacturing and engineering center of more than 1 million square feet at AllianceTexas in Fort Worth, the company's biggest-ever facility investment, The Wall Street Journal reported. The plant will expand production of air- and water-cooled commercial chillers as data center orders drive a record backlog in Carrier's commercial HVAC business. Operations are slated to begin in 2027, with about 1,500 jobs expected.
