San Jose gives final approval to data center use at Nvidia-leased building
The San Jose City Council voted 8-0 on Tuesday to uphold a planning approval for data center operations at 300 Holger Way, a 97,800-square-foot North San Jose building leased by Nvidia, rejecting a labor-backed group's environmental appeal. Landlord Menlo Equities says Nvidia has spent more than $100 million remodeling the building to test and research its computer systems. The company calls it Nvidia's first foothold in San Jose and says the chipmaker is scouting for more space in the city, which plans to finalize broader data center rules by year's end.
