Amazon misses Q3 estimates as AI spending drives cash outflow

Amazon's third-quarter revenue of $201.94 billion and EPS of $1.89 fell short of Wall Street estimates, and shares fell in extended trading. AWS sales rose 39% to $45.98 billion, its fastest growth in nearly five years, while Amazon held its 2026 capital spending forecast at about $220 billion. Heavy AI infrastructure investment pushed trailing 12-month free cash flow to a $42.4 billion outflow.
