ByteDance founder Zhang Yiming reclaims top spot on China's rich list on the back of AI

The Hurun China Rich List, released Tuesday, puts ByteDance founder Zhang Yiming back at No. 1 with a record of about $100 billion, up 43%, which Hurun chairman Rupert Hoogewerf credited almost entirely to AI, including ByteDance's Doubao assistant. DeepSeek founder Liang Wenfeng debuted at No. 7 with $41.7 billion and Cambricon's Chen Tianshi entered the top 10, while Hurun counted 160 listers, one in ten, who now make their money from AI.
