Comcast plans significant job cuts as it redesigns operations and expands AI use
Comcast is preparing a significant round of job cuts in its cable, broadband and wireless business and expects a restructuring charge of more than $1 billion in the fourth quarter, CFO Jason Armstrong said on Thursday's earnings call. Executives described the overhaul as the largest cost transformation in the company's history, including expanding AI in customer experience through partnerships with AI-agent makers Sierra and Cresta. Bloomberg first reported the planned cuts, which could begin within weeks, ahead of the planned NBCUniversal spin-off in 2027.
