T-Mobile, Nokia and Nvidia complete first AI-RAN call on a live commercial network
T-Mobile, Nokia and Nvidia said they completed the first AI-RAN call on a live commercial 5G network, at a T-Mobile cell site in Bellevue, Washington. The call ran Nokia Massive MIMO radios and Nokia's CUDA-accelerated anyRAN software on Nvidia Aerial RAN Computer servers, connected to T-Mobile's 5G Standalone core and a commercial smartphone. Announced at Nvidia's GTC Berlin, the milestone came alongside AI-RAN trials at BT, Deutsche Telekom, Elisa and Orange, with commercial services targeted for 2027.
