Filings tie proposed $66 billion Wyoming AI data center to General Catalyst

Public filings reviewed by Inc. link a proposed $66 billion AI data center project near Lost Cabin, Wyoming, to venture firm General Catalyst and its portfolio company Aethel Energy, a Houston energy startup co-founded by former Palantir staff. Paperwork for the project company, ETC DC OpCo LLC, was signed by General Catalyst's general counsel. A small 1-megawatt first phase is nearly built, and plans call for several campuses running on up to 500 megawatts of on-site natural gas power. Because the area is unincorporated and Fremont County has no zoning rules, local officials say they have little say over the project.
